HCSRN 2020

The HCSRN annual conference is the nation’s preeminent gathering for researchers based in real-world health care systems and our numerous collaborators in academic health systems, funding agencies, and patient-partner communities. Our members are on the leading edge of developing and evaluating interventions that address the most pressing problems in health and health care today. The conference offers a diverse slate of content, showcasing rigorous, relevant research on important conditions affecting millions of patients. In any given year, this might include research in response to the opioid epidemic, cancer care, maternal and child health, or the health of aging populations.

The HCSRN is an incredible test-bed to understand ways to help the healthcare system itself function as effectively and efficiently as possible. Our real world health systems serve as an applied “laboratory“ for cutting edge research in care improvement and care design. We bring together a wide array of researchers, clinicians, data analytics staff, project managers, and policymakers, who freely share insights and ideas about realizing a true learning health system, where research informs clinical care, and clinical care informs our research.

The conference program is orchestrated to maximize both networking and collaboration opportunities, and attendance at the rich scientific sessions. Previous plenary sessions have focused on “hot topics” such as data science, co-design for better collaboration, and health equity.
